Obama’s stage Thursday night to resemble Greek Temple, possibly even the WH

**Update – 8/27 – 10:28 AM: I’ve got an updated post on this story here, which includes a photo of the “temple.”**

Reuters reports that Mr. Presumptuous will be kicking things up a notch on Thursday night at his speech at Invesco field. It ain’t just about the presidency any more, folks:

DENVER (Reuters) – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.

The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts, has been set up at the 50-yard-line, the midpoint of Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos’ National Football League team plays.

Some 80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between plywood columns painted off-white, reminiscent of Washington’s Capitol building or even the White House, to accept the party’s nomination for president.

Will we get to look forward to another faux presidential seal, too? Will he come out dressed in a white toga a la Zeus and still manage not to break a sweat? Will he part the crowds just as he did the sea in an attempt to mingle with the unwashed masses?

The possiblities are endless! 8-|
