Photo of Obama’s “temple”
Last night, I wrote about reports of what Barack Obama’s stage at Invesco Field would resemble: A Greek temple.  Today, Fausta, who sees a Star Trek connection, has posted a photo of it that does for the imagination what mere articles about it couldn’t:
John McCormack at The Weekly Standard blog notes the McCain camp’s reaction: “Is this from the Onion?”
Oh, if only it truly was.

Could he mean it to resemble the White House and not a Greek temple? Looks like the columns of the WH.
Agreed. It’s the white house, just like he tried to steal the pres seal, he wants people to “get used” to seeing him at white house, with pres seal, etc.
It means they have psychologist types playing a major role in his campaign. Isn’t it funny how they try to pin that nazi propaganda guy on the republicans all the time.
Can you imagine an entire four year period with this guy constantly trying to put images into our heads? And trying to get people who disagree thrown in jail. (harold simmons)

I think it could go either way. I mean, considering his documented presumptuous about the presidency already, why not go even “bigger” by invoking images of Greek gods?
Either way you view it, no doubt we can all agree on the blatant arrogance of it all.

All I’m saying is that a temple doesn’t politically make any sense, yo.
The White House doesn’t have Corinthian columns curved in that fashion. This is clearly meant to evoke a Greek temple or amphitheater. Perhaps he’s claiming the wisdom of great Athenian leaders, such as Solon or Pericles — or maybe even the mantle of the oracle of Delphi.
Whatever, the ego-trip this symbolizes is amazing.
Amy, it doesn’t make sense for Obama to have such an inflated ego either, but he does. Considering his grandoise self-image, it wouldn’t shock me if this were planned to look like a temple.

I think it is a Greek Temple. If it were the White House, then it has a few to many columns. It also bows the wrong way. Knowing the Dems affinity toward ancient Greek society, I would guess it’s a Greek structure. – Lorica

And Yep, that is Barack “change” Obama!!!! One of my favorite lines in Conan I was this guy saying “Yeah I’ve seen those guys around….They’re just another snake cult”.

The Greek God Zeus, according to Greek mythology, wanted to locate the exact Center of the world. To do this, he released two eagles from opposite ends of the earth. The eagles met at Delphi where a temple was erected.
Would not surprise me to see two eagles on stage tonight. After all, Obama is the center of the world and has been hailed as the Messiah, let him now be portaid as God Obama. Or does he want to be the Oracle? According to legend the oracle’s answers were often vague or ambiguous, leaving interpretation to the listener.
Obama is very good at this already.
Obama as Zeus eh? Maybe his head’ll split open and Nancy Pelosi will spring out…
