Hot Air headlines calls it the continuing “Sullivan-ation” of The Atlantic. Once you see the complete set of photos (the worst of which were posted on the photographer’s website) and the story behind them, I think you’ll agree.
I can only imagine what she would have done to images of Gov. Palin, had she been the focus of The Atlantic’s cover story.

This infuriates me, but I will let it pass and sit back and watch how such nastiness unfolds. Groups and individuals cannot operate this way and not expect to draw the same negativity onto themselves. The consequences of such behavior may not come when I might think it should, but it will come back on them.
This quote should actually read “and I have photoshoped some of my artwork to make it extremely anti-Bush” The amazing thing is, it isn’t her who is responsible here, it is here boss. It’s not the people who pull the trigger, it’s the gun’s fault, basically. Nice thinking. – Lorica
The left is on the lemming express, and haven’t yet noticed it’s only a one way ticket. The more they pull this crap, the stronger McCain/Palin gets. What most worries me is that it’s seven weeks to go, and they might yet wise up, look around, and see what effect they are having.
Or is their echo chamber so airtight that they think they’re doing great? Are they clustered in the control room of the Hindenberg over Lakehurst, high fiving each other?
Let’s all pray they remain clueless, and that the day after McCain wins we get lots of dumbfounded Pauline Kael moments (”He couldn’t have won! Nobody I know voted for him!”)
Here’s Howie Kurtz on the Atlantic photos:

Note: this part appears on page 5 of Kurtz’s column, but the rest, much of which is taken up with Palin’s performance with Charlie Gibson, is worth a look too.
And to Steve: it’s too bad that Pauline Kael, who is arguably the best movie critic America’s ever had (and I do mean “movie”–she hated the word, “film,” which she thought pretentious) is today best remembered for that stupid quote.
