Selective outrage and Democrats

With all the recent posturing going on by Democrats who have feigned “outrage” over remarks Rush Limbaugh made about “phony soldiers” like Jesse MacBeth – remarks that have been embellished by liberal groups like Media Matters into meaning he was talking about real soldiers who were critics of the Iraq war – it’s important to note just how selective their outrage over alleged “troop smears” really is.

Gateway Pundit takes a look back at actual smears against our troops made by some of the same Democrats – and Democrat groups – who have howled with outrage the last week or so in light of the Rush/”phony soldiers” manufactured controversy.

Demagoguery like this just shows with startling clarity how desperate the Democrats are to prove they are “patriotic” – and they have to do it by falsely attacking someone for something they didn’t say, while in the meantime their insulting remarks about our troops are essentially ignored (and in many cases praised) by their fellow Democrats and, of course, the mainstream media.

In effect, they’re saying that on one hand it’s “patriotic” for them to insult our military, while on the other hand saying that conservatives who allegedly do are unpatriotic “chickenhawks” who should keep quiet unless they’re willing to put on a uniform.
