As noted elsewhere, I have never belonged to AARP because it has always leaned left-of-center. Now, however, I will join the American Senior Association (asa.org) simply as a matter of protest. Apparently in excess of 60,000 have dumped AARP, a relatively minor number for them, and may have joined ASA, a big jump for them.

Check out ASA. At least they’re willing to take on insipid liberal stupidity in D.C.

I cancelled my AARP membership way back when they were running the ads on TV where the plumbing was faulty and they used the wrecking ball to destroy the house. I felt that they were way too politically connected; cancelled my membership and have not respected them since!

On a related note, from a Dartmouth town hall meeting with Barney Frank:

“Frank, who chairs the House Financial Services Committee, sought to assure more than 500 people attending the rowdy meeting that the average taxpayer wouldn’t be hurt by plans currently under consideration in Congress.”

And he was so right on his assurances that Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac were in excellent condition, too. I have no idea why people wouldn’t trust his judgment on this, too?

….heh! heh! I once lived in Brevard County (in Melbourne, what a coincidence!). Lotsa geezers there, and they don’t suffer fools gladly.

These congress critters still don’t get it. They have indeed “awakened a sleeping giant, and filled him with a terrible resolve.” I can’t help but think they don’t know the origins of that prophetic statement, either.

What are you people talking about ? Look at those menacing people. They’re obviously violent ! Probably armed. These people in the photograph are a real danger to America. And I think there’s even a Right Wing Extremist with a grenade in the back of the crowd. Just look at her ! It’s plain to see that these evil people were probably bussed in from Idaho or some place like that where all the Right Wing Gun Nuts hang out. We need to put a stop to these criminal types ! Yep, these senior citizens are a real danger to the Republic and must be stopped at any cost.

Barry the Messiah would love nothing better than to lock up anyone who is a dissenter in the name of liberty and Democracy and he may yet try. How dare anyone question his authority, his mandate, his victory as the first black president?? How dare anyone stand up and say, “Wait a minute. Doesn’t this destroy our free market economy and reek of Socialism?” Off with their heads, the unruly mobs!
