VIDEO: President Obama’s “Internets” moment

On the lighter side of things (via @JakeTapper):

In the East Room of the White House earlier today, President Obama praised Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s “vision for modernization in Russia, especially high-tech innovation as a personal passion of the president,” noting that during the Russian leader’s visit to Silicon Valley this week, “he visited the headquarter of Twitters (sic), where he opened his own account.”

The president joked that he has a twitter account as well http://twitter.com/barackobama β€œso we may be able to finally throw away those red phones that have been sitting around for so long.”

And maybe the “reset button” as well.

Not a big deal in the scheme of things, but it will be nice to have handy in the event you come across a lefty who wants to throw in your face how “stupid” President Bush allegedly was by bringing up the “Internets” gaffe.

The all-time most priceless intertubes gaffe, IMO, was the Goracle’s:

“During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet” Gore said when asked to cite accomplishments that separate him from another Democratic presidential hopeful, former Sen. Bill Bradley of New Jersey, during an interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN on March 9, 1999.
