Prayers for Rev. Billy Graham

Local station WTVD-TV Raleigh reports that our nation’s beloved Reverend Billy Graham has been hospitalized due to a pulmonary ailment:

ASHEVILLE (WTVD) — Evangelist Billy Graham is being treated at Mission Hospital in Asheville for a pulmonary condition. He was admitted Wednesday.

A spokesperson for Graham said the 92-year-old was taken to the hospital for medical assessment following a health episode overnight, and initial tests suggested pneumonia.

“Appropriate antibiotics are being administered, and he is clinically stable at this time,” said Dr. Shaw C. Henderson, pulmonologist.

There is no date for Graham’s release but his primary doctor, Lucian Rice, says, “He is resting comfortably and is fully alert.”

Graham spokesperson A. Larry Ross says the evangelist is feeling much better since his arrival at the hospital. “We anticipate his pneumonia to clear with treatment and hope he will be able to soon return home.”

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Graham has not been in the best of health for several years now and rarely makes public appearances. His last public appearance that I know of was at President and Mrs. Bush’s book signings here in Charlotte back in December.
