Sowell: If conservatives wait for perfection, they’re doomed

I hear this term a lot. In fact, I’m not even sure what it’s supposed to mean anymore because some use it to mean “anyone who disagrees with a conservative no matter the issue” while to others it means someone who is literally a RINO who votes and thinks more along the lines of a staunch Democrat. Someone like Lincoln Chafee, for example. I tend to subscribe to the latter definition.
I’m getting really sick of hearing the term “shared sacrifice” – especially when it comes from our celebrity President (and other liberal “leaders”) as he seeks to try to convince the American people that the “rich” aren’t paying their “fair share” of taxes, but a thought came to mind to me this afternoon and it made me boil: “the rich” (aka the job creators) are supposed to pony up even more money in these uncertain economic times, made even more uncertain by the clueless wonder sitting in the Oval Office, yet fat cat unionistas and members (like this union crowd Nancy Pelosi spoke in front of earlier today) aren’t supposed to be touched to any meaningful degree?
Some of you may have already seen this creative joke, but I just got wind of it tonight and wanted to share it …
It goes without saying that we were all sickened and enraged at the terrorist attacks that took place in Norway on Friday which, as of this writing, have left over 90 60 dead – most of them teenagers – and over 90 wounded. The lone Oslo/Utoya terrorist, Anders Behring Breivik, appeared in court today seeking to “explain” his actions to an angry, shocked, and outraged nation but his initial court appearance was closed to the public.
