Will it be another disappointing day for the 0-4 Carolina Panthers as they face the 3-1 Chicago Bears here at home at Panthers Stadium? The Panthers are coming off a 16-14 division loss to New Orleans in which the Cats showed a little bit of promise but came up short in the end. Chicago’s hoping to rebound from an embarassing 17-3 loss to the NY Giants.
Was just reflecting this morning on how, in certain situations, it is difficult to rest in the knowledge that God is in control and that He has a plan. I have a couple of family members who are in situations in which other family members and I can do very little to help outside of just being there to provide a shoulder to lean on, and to give encouragement and support to. You want to think that giving that shoulder and encouragement is enough, but deep down you agonize to try and figure out ways you can help them through their situations so their lives can get back to normal, but the agonizing is fruitless because usually you come up empty.

If you’re like me, during your childhood, teenage and college years, you were not the most popular person in school. Not even close. You never got to hang around with the so-called “A-list” crowd because they thought they were “too good” for you. You were socially awkward, not particularly attractive, had zero fashion sense, and had the grace of a bunny rabbit on an acid trip. Your seating preference in the classroom was in the very back where you could hide from not just the teachers but students, too, and on the bus to and from school it wasn’t uncommon for you to be the laughing stock of the moment with an unforgiving group of “A-listers.”
