This weekend has been a big one in Republican politics as the dash to elect the nominee who we hope will defeat Barack Obama in November 2012 is on. Michele Bachmann won the Iowa straw poll, with Ron Paul finishing 2nd and T-Paw a distant third. As a result of that finish, T-Paw announced today that he is dropping out of the race. Mitt Romney, I should note, had no ground game in Iowa.
Not that it was a profound thought or anything, but it hit me during Thursday night’s GOP debates, when I was reading Tweets from the official Democrat party Tweet page about how the debate line-up was the most “extreme” in history – or something to that effect – that it’s high time the GOP demand Democrat party rank and file politicians and “leaders” to define what exactly it is about the conservative agenda today that is “extreme.”
The Associated Press reports that about a half a dozen trade unions will be boycotting the 2012 Democrat National Convention, which will be held here in Charlotte, because they’re upset party leaders chose one of the staunchest anti-union states in the country in which to re-nominate BarryO:
