That’s probably the best way to describe the poor debate performance of our celebrity President last night, and the description comes courtesy of one of his hometown papers the Chicago Tribune. Ouch. Nobody wants to be that guy, especially not on national TV.
Yes, I’ll be watching but only reluctantly. Β I hate that these things not only boil down to one-liners, flubs, Β and “gotchas” – not to mention the typical unfairness of the moderators – but I also don’t like the fact that there are so many people in this country who don’t judge the sum total of a candidate’s public service career but instead judge them through the prism of 60 second canned answers to complex issues.

There has been a lot of talk recently as to the poll numbers that are suddenly showing Obama with a distinct edge in battleground states. Specifically, the chatter is that the heavy oversampling of Democrats is what is giving our celebrity President the appearance of being in the clear lead in the final five weeks leading up to the November elections.
