Jimmy Carter thinks he has the right touch when it comes to solving the North Korea crisis
I’m not kidding. He’s actually trying to claim the agreement he brokered with then-North Korean President President Kim Il-sung (father of current North Korean maniac President Kim Jong-il) was working … until President Bush declared North Korea a member of the axis of evil back in January 2002. Via an opinion piece he wrote for the NYT:
The Norks test: US doubts it was nuclear
Bill Gertz reports from the Washington Times:
North Korea’s first nuclear weapon test
The big story of the day, as it should be (finally!) is the escalating rhetoric – and now actions – of Kim Jong-il. The NYT reports:
What the big news should be
While Washington, DC is caught up in the Foleygate firestorm, a certain dictator is once again engaging in saber rattling.
Airliner hijacked in Greek airspace
Greg Tinti has the details on this developing story. There are two hijackers, and reports from Turkish Airlines are that no passengers have been harmed. This was done apparently to protest the Pope’s upcoming visit to Turkey.
