Well, with their team having what is now officially the worst record in the NFL, Panthers fans don’t have much to get exited about outside of the hope that we don’t get hammered too badly by the Bears. I’ve picked the Bears to win today in the pool, as I can no longer go with my heart when it comes to my team if I expect to be competitive. 🙂
Well, after a bye week and a lot of soul-searching, the Panthers are gearing up to take on the Dallas Cowboys today at Bank of America Stadium. The weather outside is nice at 60 degrees and clear skies with an expected high of 68, but hopefully the Cats can use their home field advantage to turn up the temperature a little higher against the Cowboys, whose record (2-4) isn’t much better than ours (1-4).
Well, it’ll be a relaxing day for Panthers fans because the team has a bye this week and therefore can’t embarrass themselves on a football Sunday … or so we hope.
The Seahawks and the Panthers don’t play until a little after 4 today here, and that’s probably a good thing as it has rained on and off – sometimes heavily – since about 7 last night. The forecast for this afternoon is cloudy w/ a high of 60 degrees but only up to a 20% chance for rain, so this will give the field a chance to dry out a little.
It’s been ten days since the Panthers got their behinds whipped in front of a national audience on their home turf against the Giants. Would love to be able to say I’ve picked them to win this week versus the Falcons in the office pool but I did not. 🙁 Lot of jokes and discussion in the sports media about Cam Newton and Steve Smith in the last week-plus in terms of leadership, maturity, and taking the game to the next level. Will it translate into a win today? Let’s hope it does. The Panthers winning would be a “sacrifice” I’d willingly make in the office pool.
