Sunday Football Open Thread: #Panthers at the Chargers

The Carolina Panthers (4-9) are coming off a very exciting home win last week against their division rivals the Falcons and are hoping to create a “win streak” of sorts down the final stretch of the season as they take on the San Diego Chargers (5-8) today in an away game. I myself was so impressed with how the Panthers played against the Falcons that I picked them to win today over the Chargers who, of course, are not nearly as good as the Falcs – and maybe not as good a team as the Panthers are when the Cats are “on their game.” The big question is: WILL they be on their game today, and will they play the FULL four quarters of football or run out of steam in the 3rd Q, as has so often been the case with this team?.....   [Read More]

Sunday Football Open Thread: Falcons at the #Panthers

The Panthers play the Falcons today here in Charlotte in hopes of avenging their heartbreaking loss from Week 4 where they let a lead slip away in the final few minutes of the game. If memory serves me correctly, the Cats played well in that game until the final 2 or 3 minutes. Then again, our biggest problem for the last year-plus under Coach Ron Rivera has been the failure to “finish strong.” They’ve looked better in the last three weeks, especially as Cam Newton looks to be finding his rhythm, so maybe we’ll see a different (better) outcome today than we did in the first meeting. .....   [Read More]

The Charlotte Observer, “scholars” owe Rev. Billy Graham an apology

Several weeks ago, the Charlotte Observer – apparently upset that the Graham family was making its support of Mitt Romney well known in the final weeks leading up to the election – posted an unsubstantiated hit piece on America’s favorite pastor Billy Graham, insinuating that Graham no longer had control of his mental faculties and suggesting his son Franklin was using him as a puppet to advance his own agenda.
