I got back about an hour ago from early voting here in Charlotte. I had planned on waiting til election day, but changed my mind when I read about all the lines here. I figured the lines we are seeing now would only be longer on election day, even in the early morning, which is when I usually go to vote.
For months back during the 2004 campaign, we heard from media elites about how “BushCo” were using so-called “wedge issues” like gay marriage and illegal immigration in an effort to deliberately divide the American electorate for purposes of winning the election in the fall. The ‘slimy’ GOP would stop at nothing, they insinuated, to keep their power both in Congress and the WH.
Barry Oh! has been out on the stump today in North Carolina criticizing his opponent on the issue of the economy and gas prices, but what he’s not telling people about are the ties his campaign has to evil subprime lenders, lenders who both he and his legions of supporters/followers have relentlessly attacked the last several months (as part of the overall downturn of the economy), especially when some of those same supporters tried to tie McCain to the subprime lending ‘crisis’ several months ago.
The race to the nomination has just gotten a lot tougher for Hillary Clinton. In light of her trouncing in NC last night, and her squeaker win in IN (and has she really won IN?), her “popular vote” argument to the superdelegates looks less and less like a plausible one …. unless Florida and Michigan are included in the mix, and it looks like for Clinton and Co, that’s what it will boil down to:
