I wish I had more time to write about this today, and may tonight, but in the meantime I wanted to link up quickly to a story about how Senators Lieberman and Obama squared off in the US Senate today over Obama’s Iran position. Obama was so upset with things Lieberman had said on a pro-McCain conference call that he had Lieberman backed up against the wall. Jake Tapper reports (via Memeo):
CSPAN‘s broadcasting it live both on TV and on their website. Looks like the DNC elites are behind this morning as no one is seated at this point and it’s 9:30. Perhaps they are a little behind because their dinner engagement went on until 2 this morning. Most of the CSPAN callers this morning are pro-Obama. One “Independent” caller suggested that Democrats should just take Bush and Cheney out of the office, skip impeachment, and make Al Gore president and Obama VP.
Barack Obama wants people to think he’s the anti-lobbyist candidate, and runs around the country dissing both Hillary Clinton and John McCain for supposedly being “beholden” to lobbyists. However, as with most things he says, the rhetoric doesn’t match reality. I’ve documented his hypocrisy on this issue numerous times, but Newsweek reported something today that pretty much seals the deal on just how hypocritical and duplicitous the Obama campaign has been on this issue:

When I hear it, the first thing I think of is a mainstream news reporter, anchor, or correspondent who, ideally, should be delivering bias-free news. The impressions I get from people I talk to about journalism both online and elsewhere are that they believe similarly.
