Memeorandum has a link roundup of reports from several bloggers who are either in Iraq or have just come back, who have provided information and anaylysis on what’s happening on the ground there. Make sure to read ’em all, especially this one.
I’m sure most of us have had the unpleasant experience of talking with far leftist Castro supporters, who talk up the many supposed ‘qualities’ of the ‘leader’ of Cuba. Among what’s supposed to be so great about Cuba is their ‘public healthcare system.’ I’ve argued with the people who tout Cuba as a ‘shining’ example of their ideals that it didn’t matter if the healthcare in Cuba was second to none (it’s not, of course), that ‘great healthcare’ didn’t take away from the fact that Cuba is a Communist state known for its rampant human rights abuses as well as their routine suppression of free speech, often at the expense of jailing dissidents. Afterall, that’s why so many risk their lives in manmade rafts just to get to the US.
Hey ya’ll – I’m taking the day off from blogging. This past weekend, I lifted a couple of things I shouldn’t have (a 17″ monitor and 19″ monitor), and I’ve felt the results of it over the last couple of days with major lower back pain. It’s uncomfortable for me to sit down right now, so I’m spending the day resting, mostly by laying down on the couch, in hopes that the pain will subside. If I feel better this evening, I’ll try to get some blogging done.
You gotta love the Aussies – the ones who aren’t stuck in a hippie-esque time warp, that is.
