Yes, yes – we’re back up and running here at the ST blog. Sorry for the inconvenience. Apparently my site was switched to a new server today and something didn’t copy over properly and as a result it was showing up as an icky generic site for a couple of hours (at least). I didn’t know until I tried to log in around 12:30 and saw some things that didn’t look right, and also got several emails from readers expressing concern. Hosting Matters fixed it quickly once I made them aware of it, so all is now well in ST’s world again 😉
“War on science” in the Obama admin?
Remember all the wild-eyed accusations against the Bush administration about their alleged “war on science”? CBS reports about a potential scandal involving Obama administration EPA officials allegedly suppressing a report “that was skeptical of claims about global warming, including whether carbon dioxide must be strictly regulated by the federal government, according to a series of newly disclosed e-mail messages.” Make sure to read the links at the CNET to get the gist of the report’s claims, and to read the EPA’s response.
Profile of Jenny Sanford
The New York Times has a suprisingly good profile on SC First Lady Jenny Sanford, the “woman scorned” in the Gov. Mark Sanford affair scandal. The piece talks about how she was and is arguably the women “behind the man” – the one who perhaps had more influence on his decision-making both inside the office and outside of it than some of is own staff and advisers, after giving up her career in the financial sector shortly after they got married in 1989.
