Via CNN’s Political Ticker:
The organization announced Friday it is rolling out a new national television ad campaign next week accusing Bush of “a betrayal of trust.”
“Before the surge, George Bush had 130,000 troops stuck in Iraq,” states the ad’s narrator. “Americans had elected a new Congress to bring them home. Instead, Bush sent 30,000 more troops. ”
“Now he’s making a big deal about you guessed it…pulling out 30,000,” the narrator adds. “So, next year, there will still be 130,000 troops stuck in Iraq.”
“[President Bush has] given us a sham draw-down plan — 30,000 troops by next July is not a plan to end the war,” Nita Chaudhary, a spokeswoman for the organization said in a statement. “No one is fooled by this. It’s just a political scheme to provide cover for Republicans and run out the clock to the end of his term.”
Meanwhile, via The Swamp we learn that Rudy has taken out his own ad in the NYT – not response to the heavily-discounted Petraeus ad, but instead it’s one that condemns Hillary for not denouncing the now infamous “Betray-us” ad. And Hillary has responded.
Hmmm. A sign of things to come, perhaps, next fall? ![]()
And Hillary may not have condemned it, but Ben Smith at The Politico is calling Elizabeth Edwards criticism of the ad her “Sister Souljah” moment.
Sister Toldjah moments are better, I think
Update: Sheesh! And MorOn.org will be running an ad against Rudy in Iowa next week. Here we go …
Still more: The Advertising Age reports that Rudy paid the same price for his ad as MoveOn did. Well, because the NYT took the heat about the MoveOn ad, I guess they figured they didn’t have a choice with Rudy’s.
Here’s much, much more on the MoveOn nonsense, via Michelle Malkin.

- Well its been a very bad week for the LunarBats, so a “surge” in trollosity is to be expected. Lets review:
- On the eve of what may eventually be viewed as the veritable “Waterloo” for the Dems, perhaps the last chance they’ll have to force an all out stampede from Iraq, have enough time for the slaughtering to die down in time for elections, shove the Iraq conflict into the “resolved” column, and thereby have a chance in hell of deposing the Reps from the White House, what do the crazy aunts in the attic do? They pull the rug out from under the party they declare they own. Way to go surrender monkeys. So far in the only two political events they’ve had any real involvment, the Lieberman disaster in Conn., and now the NYT berserker ad, there seems to be an unmistakable pattern going on here.
- I may have to revise my opinions of the Left as a serious, if wrong headed, political player if this keeps up. A few more of these massive brain farts, and even their own bought and paid for candidates won’t speak to them.
- Rudy nailed moveon, Hillary, the Dem party as a whole, and the NYT (and all of it’s fellow media Leftwing rags), all in one shot.
- He’s dah man!

I mean, who would know better about the state of Iraq today and the security situation. General Patraeus, a patriot who has dedicated his life to protecting this nation, or the loons at Moveon.org.
Once again we see the talking points of the dems and the anti-war nuts sound eerily similar to those of Bin Laden and his cronies.
Coincidence????
This may get interesting. The American Conservative Union has filed a formal complaint against the NYT and MorOn.org for violation of federal campaign financing laws.

The ACU alleges:
So we should a get definitive answer about whether this is legal or not soon.
- Notice the use of the phrase “stuck in Iraq”. This morons just can’t get through a full day without dissing the military. They’ve gone so low they can;t even grasp at the low hanging fruit anymore, simply stooping to pic it off the ground now.
- Since Rudy’s ad ran as scheduled today, and at the same rate, the playing field has been leveled again, so the Dem advantage, such as it was, has been lost, and all they are left with is having to defend the indefensible. The NYT, cornered like the ideological back stabbing rats they are, had no choice but to comply. Otherwise there would be no way left for them to go on denying their rabid bias.
- I’m not sure where that leaves things legally, since both sides had equal (well ok maybe not exactly equal, because the moveon timing was a bit more exact, but I hope they keep it up.
- O’Reilly had two Dem analysts on today, and they both ackowledged the absolutely stupid mistake by the LunarBats will provide the Reps with a goldmine of ammo when next years elections roll around. When you see the other sides own talking heads caving you know some serious damage has been done. They both agreed and went so far as to say the Dem leadership (read Pelosi and Harry) will be sitting down with the alowns at moveon next week, and educating them in the finer points of style.
- I actually hope they do it some more. If they keep it up until the Dem party has to simply dissassociate with the Left-twits, it pretty well makes ‘08 a wash for the Dems. Worse, they could very well end up losing the Congress too, a catastrophy they will have to lay squarely at the feet of the touchy-feely thruthiness crowd.
- Bottom line. No way the Dems will be able to claim they aren’t owned by the Kool-aide drinkers after this weeks dabacle, without a total break. Maybe the Loons could run St. Sheehan for Pres. *snort*
….Howard Dean….paging Mr. Dean…….

Rudy’s ad is great, heard it Friday … speaks the truth on hildabeast but hey, why stop with her, speak out on the breck girl and osama too.
I’m still swaying towards Fred but I love Rudy’s ad.
Let the games begin !!!!!!
Props to Big Bang Hunter for word coinage: “trollosity” is perfect.
Speaking of endorsements!!!
Wesley Clark endorses Clinton
Indeed. Can you imagine what it might have said about Clark had he endorsed Bush. Or any general who endorsed Bush for that matter.
Oh, my sides.
“…Or any general who endorsed Bush for that matter.”
- Don’t think we have to guess as to what the disloyal opposition would do in that event NC. *chuckle*

Obviously someone is looking for a VP nomination. These guys are just pathetic. – Lorica
Listen, the Soros crowd that’s callin’ the shots at the DNC has made it clear they’ve bought and paid for the Dems. And they WONT be denied. These filthy, over-the-top ads figure to continue. And will probably backfire on ‘em.
I heard a replay of O’Reilly this morning. He went to “Liar” Davis for an objective look at the MoveOn.org ad. If that is objective, O’Reilly is losing it completely. Liar Davis is a Clintonista to the end.
