Former fashion consultant to Al Gore: Thanks to Gov. Palin, the end is near

Well, ok, that’s not exactly what Naomi Wolf said, but it’s pretty darn close. Here’s a sneak preview:

Please understand what you are looking at when you look at Sarah “Evita” Palin. You are looking at the designated muse of the coming American police state.

You have to understand how things work in a closing society in order to understand “Palin Power.” A gang or cabal seizes power, usually with an affable, weak figurehead at the fore. Then they will hold elections — but they will make sure that the election will be corrupted and that the next affable, weak figurehead is entirely in their control. Remember, Russia has Presidents; Russia holds elections. Dictators and gangs of thugs all over the world hold elections. It means nothing. When a cabal has seized power you can have elections and even presidents, but you have freedom.

I realized early on with horror what I was seeing in Governor Palin: the continuation of the Rove-Cheney cabal, but this time without restraints. I heard her echo Bush 2000 soundbites (”the heart of America is on display”) and realized Bush’s speechwriters were writing her — not McCain’s — speeches. I heard her tell George Bush’s lies — not McCain’s — to the American people, linking 9/11 to Iraq. I heard her make fun of Barack Obama for wanting to prevent the torture of prisoners — this is Rove-Cheney’s enthusiastic S and M, not McCain’s, who, though he shamefully colluded in the 2006 Military Tribunals Act, is also a former prisoner of war and wrote an eloquent Newsweek piece in 2005 opposing torture. I saw that she was even styled by the same skillful stylist (neutral lipstick, matte makeup, dark colors) who turned Katharine Harris from a mall rat into a stateswoman and who styles all the women in the Bush orbit –but who does not bother to style Cindy McCain.

Newsbuster’s P.J. Gladnick sums up my thoughts:

This sure reminds me of a certain Gary Larson cartoon. A patient is reclining on a psychiatrist’s couch. Sitting next to him is the shrink writing on his notepad: “Just plain NUTS!!!”

The exposure of the militant liberal feminist movement continues.

Compare Wolf’s alarmist rantings with what Bill Clinton had to say about Gov. Palin earlier today:

(CNN) — Bill Clinton said Monday the Democratic ticket should steer clear of launching personal attacks on Sarah Palin over her relatively thin resume, and instead acknowledge she was a “good choice” for the No. 2 spot on the GOP ticket.

“Why say, ever, anything bad about a person? Why don’t we like them and celebrate them and be happy for her elevation to the ticket? And just say that she was a good choice for him and we disagree with them?” said Clinton, who faced repeated charges during the primary season he was overly negative toward Obama on the campaign trail.

Clinton’s comments appear to echo advice Karl Rove gave to Barack Obama in his regular Wall Street Journal column last week, when the former Bush strategist noted attacking the VP candidate has rarely proven to be an effective strategy.

In one of the former president’s few extended comments to date on Palin’s surprise VP candidacy, Clinton also told reporters in New York Monday he knows why the Alaska governor is attracting massive crowds on the campaign trail.

“I come from Arkansas, I get why she’s hot out there,” Clinton told reporters in New York, according to the Associated Press. “Why she’s doing well.”

“People look at her, and they say, ‘All those kids. Something that happens in everybody’s family I’m glad she loves her daughter and she’s not ashamed of her. Glad that girl’s going around with her boyfriend. Glad they’re going to get married,’” he said.

Referencing Palin’s 5-month old child who has Down Syndrome, Clinton also said voters will think, “I like that little Down syndrome kid — one of them lives down the street, they’re wonderful children.”

Is it just me, or do ya’ll think the Clintons really aren’t trying to do much to help Obama win the presidency? Hillary’s been on the campaign trail a bit for Obama, but you haven’t read about any fiery attacks she’s launched on Gov. Palin. In fact, by some accounts, her criticism – especially in contrast to how she went after Obama during the primaries – has been tepid. Methinks the Clintons are secretly hoping for an Obama loss so they can make a run for it again in 2012.

You know, I remember sometime last year when someone posted, I think it was Lorica or GWR, about how it didn’t matter which Republican got elected to the White House after Bush because they would instantly become “The worst president in history” just like they claim Bush is.

At first I thought it might be an exaggeration, but I realize how right they were. These people are certifiable. They are already screaming about rights abuses and police state and the woman just got the nomination.

God help this country, and the world, if these “tolerant and open minded” liberals take over.

“Russia holds elections. Dictators and gangs of thugs all over the world hold elections. It means nothing.”

This is true. Sounds a lot like Chicago, Cook County and the State of Illinois to me. I know, I once lived there. Community organizers are the ones who “get out the vote” working side-by-side with union thugs, outfit cronies, precinct captains and indentured government employees. In Cook County thousands of dead people suddenly rise from their graves every other year like zombies for one reason.

    To vote democrat.~o)

Hordes of zombies rise from the grave and attack polling places throughout Chicago. Only one woman can turn back the tide. Resident Evil: Election. Coming on November 4th to a theater near you.

    ;)

Pity me, my dear; I still live there.:((
The one down side I could see to McCain’s winning the election will be that I get Obama back as a senator.:(

So Obama can raise the dead too?? Wow…more proof that he really is The One. :d

My first question before reading the post is “Who is Naomi Wolf?” I now have an answer – she’s an idiot.

“Is it just me, or do ya’ll think the Clintons really aren’t trying to do much to help Obama win the presidency?”

It isn’t just you – not by a long shot. I’m sure even Obama knows the Clintons aren’t in his camp.

  7. Steve Skubinna says:

Go easy on Ms. Wolf, people. She’s obviously greatly threatened by Sarah Palin’s success. Plus, I hear Al Gore won’t return her calls any more.

  8. Leslie says:

I’m fascinated at the thought that anyone, even someone so nutty as Ms. Wolf, could imagine after beholding the woman that Sarah Palin could be anybody’s stooge.

In 1928, when Al Smith unsuccessfully ran for president, he handpicked a guy named Franklin D. Roosevelt to succeed him as governor. Why, the guy was a lightweight aristocrat, and couldn’t even walk. Obviously he would just wheel himself into the office a couple of days a week and sign the papers Smith’s people told him to.

    Uh. Huh.

  9. Lorica says:

Excuse me?? Now who is using fear???

designated muse of the coming American police state.

Isn’t that what Democrats want Naomi?? Seems to me that for too long Dem leadership has wanted to bring facism back but with alittle more style. Yippie!!

Then they will hold elections — but they will make sure that the election will be corrupted and that the next affable, weak figurehead is entirely in their control.

You mean like you tried with Al Gore in 2000 Naomi?? Seems to me that you tried to turn Al from a spineless jellyfish to an “alpha male”. =)) Too funny!!

It amazes me that these people take themselves seriously!!! What stupidity, is this the next back door attack on McCain/Palin?? If you ain’t a racist, you is a useful idiot. I do believe that Naomi’s jealousy has gotten to her intellect, or what little of that she ever had. Dumb, Dumb Dumb.

NC I don’t remember saying that, so it might have been GWR. I do agree with that tho. If anyone gets elected that is not BO, then they are going to be run down in the MSM and by the congressional Dems until they are out of office or a Dem is in. These guys have turned into a bunch of spoiled sports. What next are they going to take their ball and go home?? We can only wish.

Trish, I do feel for you. I live and work close to “little” Chicago across the state. These fools continue to elect corrupt officials and mob thugs just because they are Dems. Slobadon Blagoavich is so corrupt, I am shocked that the Fed hasn’t thrown his tush in jail, yet these fools keep voting for him. I have thought more than once it is time to move to Iowa. – Lorica

    Secretly?

    Some secret.
