Ultra-leftie Gore Vidal: Polanski was a victim of anti-Semitism, rape victim was really a “hooker”

Vidal’s ultra-leftist credentials speak for themselves. So do his repulsive remarks about the ‘conspiracy’ against child rapist Roman Polanski (from an interview Atlantic magazine did with him recently):

Atlantic: In September, director Roman Polanski was arrested in Switzerland for leaving the U.S. in 1978 before being sentenced to prison for raping a 13-year-old girl at Jack Nicholson’s house in Hollywood. During the time of the original incident, you were working in the industry, and you and Polanski had a common friend in theater critic and producer Kenneth Tynan. So what’s your take on Polanski, this many years later?

Vidal: I really don’t give a f**k. Look, am I going to sit and weep every time a young hooker feels as though she’s been taken advantage of?

Atlantic: I’ve certainly never heard that take on the story before.

Vidal: First, I was in the middle of all that. Back then, we all were. Everybody knew everybody else. There was a totally different story at the time that doesn’t resemble anything that we’re now being told.

Atlantic: What do you mean?

Vidal: The media can’t get anything straight. Plus, there’s usually an anti-Semitic and anti-f*g thing going on with the press – lots of crazy things. The idea that this girl was in her communion dress, a little angel all in white, being raped by this awful Jew, Polacko – that’s what people were calling him – well, the story is totally different now from what it was then.

He provides no evidence, of couse, probably because he’s full of you-know-what.

Joining Vidal in this week’s Hall of Shameless is the Atlantic Magazine itself for implying it agreed with Vidal’s opinion that anti-Semitism was and is behind all criticism and condemnation of Polanski. Read the rest of the “interview” and you’ll see what I mean.

Jim Nolte at Big Hollywood responds to Vidal’s bile:

Oh, it’s because Polanski’s Jewish… Now it all makes sense. We should’ve been looking at his being a Jew not his confession or his drugging and sodomizing a 13 year-old girl who obviously had it coming because she wasn’t wearing a communion dress.

Naturally Vidal will face no real outrage or consequence for describing a 13 year-old rape victim as a “hooker.”

He’s inoculated.

He’s a Leftist.

But in the event that any significant degree of outrage were generated against him, we know exactly who’d be coming to his defense: The same types of nitwits who apparently think sexualizing young girls and boys is perfectly normal. The same types of nitwits who, four months after pledging to be a “servant” to President Obama, were told by him during a swanky fundraiser in Beverly Hills, “If it weren’t for you we would not be in the White House.”

And the beat goes on.

Mr. Vidal is one to go around calling a 13-year old a whore. How does he think his books are “rave-reviewed” every time he gets one published? On talent (both by the writer and the reviewer)?

  2. Xrlq says:

I’m not even sure what “Polacko” is supposed to mean. Did Vidal hear someone call his favorite rapist a “polaco” in Spanish, and assume the word was pejorative? It’s not; like its Polish counterpart “Polak,” it’s just the word for Polish, which Polanski happens to be. Query how the Polish word for Polish ever managed to become an anti-Polish slur in English. Is there any language in the world where “American” is a derogatory name for Americans?

  3. Bill says:

I knew it! I knew it! It was that little 13 year old “slut” and her anti-semite friends who were behind this miscarriage of justice against the great pillager pillar of the community Roman Polanski. He is so the victim! Oh the horror!

Does anyone else get queasy just thinking about the kind of people that populate Hollywood?

Oh, yeah, they can speak truth to the rest of us….right.

Obama should limit the amount of money they make on a movie…and the studios should not be allowed to get rich on the backs of the poor starving artists….hehehhe
