On Thursday, I posted a question about the lack of significant coverage coming out of affected areas outside of New Orleans and why there wasn’t more of it. Looks like I’m not the only one wondering:
The Associated Press this evening is reporting that US Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist passed away at his Virginia home today. He was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last October.
I was particularly struck by a quote I read in a Reuters article from someone in Sri Lanka who compared the post-tsunami atmosphere there with post-Katrina atmososphere in New Orleans. From the article:
