TGIF

Hi everyone.  Just wanted to let you know that today is going to be a light blogging day – I’m off work (actually been off the last couple of days) and I’ve got some errands to run and also want to get out and enjoy this beautiful weather.  And I’ve got to get away from the news for a bit.  It’s starting to get to me.  I will be back to blogging this evening.  I’ll be around on and off to approve comments, but not to post.  Most likely,  comments that have been submitted after I post this will be approved this evening......   [Read More]

Corps officials: Funding levels not to blame for flooding

Earlier today, I blogged about an article from the Chicago Tribune that discussed how the US Army Corps of Engineers had been the target of funding cuts since 1965 (you had to dig that out of the article, but it was there). If you’ve done any travelling around the lefty blogosphere today you’ve probably seen how often this article has been cited to show how the levee breaks that happened in New Orleans were Bush’s fault due to funding cuts advocated by both him and Congress.
