Michelle Malkin liveblogged the Senate vote earlier this evening on the issue of funding ACORN in the current transportation and appropriations bill. Tonight, they voted 83-7 to not include funding for ACORN in those bills, which was a welcome sight to see, considering their routine funding and praising of them during the Bush administration in spite of the repeated instances of corruption and wrongdoing that were widespread across the country.
Many of us predicted it would happen way before he was elected President: Barack Obama has not helped race relations. Before he was elected, scrutiny of him by opponents was treated as “racist” in nature. And not just from conservative opponents. Hillary and Billy Clinton were on the receiving end of the “racist” accusations at the start of the primaries in January 2008, and those accusations were fostered by none other than Obama himself and higher-ups in his campaign staff. The accusations continued throughout the primary and general election campaign seasons, especially once it the sunlight shone a little brighter on Obama’s 20 year relationship with his racist “spiritual mentor” the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

It’s the Iggles versus the Cats today at BOA Stadium here in Charlotte on the first Sunday of regular season football this season. I confess I have paid very little attention to the off-/pre-season football talk but nevertheless am hopeful that the Panthers have put their embarassing playoff loss to the Cardinals last season behind them, will move forward from their disappointing pre-season (0-4), and will have a good season.
