Apologies for the site access issues many of you have experienced today. I don’t know what’s going on, but I contacted my hosting service about an hour and a half ago. Haven’t heard back from them, but it looks like the site has come back up in the last twenty minutes or so.
When I hear it, the first thing I think of is a mainstream news reporter, anchor, or correspondent who, ideally, should be delivering bias-free news. The impressions I get from people I talk to about journalism both online and elsewhere are that they believe similarly.
An uncivil war has been declared between the Obamaniacs at the Daily Kos and HRC devotees, so much so that one diarist has declared that he/she is going on strike from writing there in protest of his/her perception that Kos is now running a blatantly pro-Obama website where opposing views supposedly aren’t welcomed. In an update, the diarist (“Alegre”) notes other diarists/regular readers who are have also said they will “picket” against the Daily Kos.
It’s official: The Captain reports that “[t]he time has come to sail Captain’s Quarters into drydock” and tomorrow will be his first official day blogging at Hot Air. CQ will no longer be updated, but his archives will, thankfully, still be available.
There were two big announcements earlier today at the Hot Air website. One was that Bryan Preston was leaving the site to produce the Laura Ingraham show. The other was to announce that Captain Ed was joining the Hot Air crew.
As I noted in my previous post, Senator Barack Obama, who has made it a point in speech after speech – and at numerous Dem debates – to expressly condemn the practice of “waterboarding,” could not be bothered to show up to vote against it yesterday. He was too busy with bigger priorities, like campaigning for president.
