After months of me (and a lot of other NCers) doing a lot of nailbiting over polls showing Obama and McCain running within just a few points of each other in this long time red state – no doubt helped by Obama’s numerous visits here, we finally have a reason to be cautiously optimistic:
When last we left you, they were bogusly claiming that Gov. Palin “slashed” funding for teen moms earlier this year via line-item veto. That story was debunked hours after the WaPo first reported it. To my knowledge, they still have not issued a correction.
This is a speech that was made before Rudy’s speech last Wednesday night that didn’t get much attention, primarily because Gov. Lingle is not only not well-known nationally in comparison to Rudy and (now) Gov. Palin, but also because of the fact that Lingle is known as one of those “RINO” type Republicans who carries the banner but then turns around and supports things like Hawaii’s secession from the US.
About his plan to raise taxes on the “rich” during what he calls a recession: He’s now conceding it might be a bad idea.
