We all know and love Andy Griffith from his years as Sheriff Andy Taylor on the Andy Griffith show, but unfortunately a recent ad he did on behalf of the Obama administration to try and soothe the nerves of senior citizens worried that they could be losing some of their Medicare benefits as a result of the passage of ObamaCare was short on the facts. Update – 10:03 PM: Fox News has a good recap of who won tonight. Short version? Marshall will be Burr’s opponent in the NC Senate race, Haley (handily) SCGov, Johnson in NC8 (with his opponent refusing to congratulate him – figures), Randall in NC13, Dority in NC12, Scott in SC1, and in SC4, incumbent Inglis loses to Gowdy. Utah primary results are just now starting to come in.
I’ve written numerous times at this blog about the battle going on between the two GOP contenders for NC’s 8th Congressional District – Tim D’Annunzio and Harold Johnson. Early voting in this race is currently underway, with the actual runoff date across the state for all runoffs set for next Tuesday the 22nd.
