Unlike other gubernatorial races across the country that were decided on November 8th, the battle for who will be NC’s next governor is still ongoing. Less than 5,000 votes separate incumbent GOP Governor Pat McCrory and NC AG Roy Cooper, his Democratic challenger who holds the ever so slight lead.
President Obama hit the campaign trail on Tuesday to stump for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton just one week before Election Day. In urging the crowd in Columbus, Ohio to get out and vote, he trotted out some familiar yet worn-out themes about why he believes the race between Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump is so close:
It’s not exactly a secret that the Charlotte Observer opposes HB2. They’ve run countless “objective” pieces on it since its late March passage as well as numerous haughty editorials decrying the law known nationwide now as the “bathroom bill.” They’ve also denounced its proponents – which include victims of sexual assault and rape – as “bigots” fighting against “imaginary threats/ghosts” who need to get over their “discomfort” at the thought of male genitalia in their locker rooms.
