Hurricane Ike photos
Houston blogger Jason Smith and family thankfully survived the onslaught from Hurricane Ike, but as you’ve probably read by now, things are a mess in that part of Texas and it looks like there’s no end in sight. He’s uploaded some photos of what he saw before and after Hurricane Ike hit the eastern Texas shoreline.
Ike’s wrath
Reports coming in from the Houston/Galveston area are not good. There is widespread damage, and millions are without power. At least four are dead, but more are expected as about 40% of Galveston residents stayed behind.

Gustav and the GOP convention
Michelle Malkin’s got the latest developments on both.ΓΒ Gustav’s on track to hit New Orleans and surrounding areas on the Gulf Coast in the next two days.ΓΒ ΓΒ New Orleans is a ghost town. ΓΒ Looks like several of the activities scheduled for tomorrow have been canceled, per McCain.ΓΒ Cheney and Bush won’t be there, either.
