Early Saturday I touched briefly on the news regarding Cindy Sheehan considering a run for Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s seat.
I’ve gotten a few emails that have essentially said “CNS as a source? What about something more mainstream?” Ask and ye shall receive:
CARACAS, Venezuela - Cindy Sheehan, the peace activist who set up camp near President Bush’s Texas ranch last summer, said Saturday she is considering running against Sen. Dianne Feinstein (news, bio, voting record) to protest what she called the California lawmaker’s support for the war in Iraq.
“She voted for the war. She continues to vote for the funding. She won’t call for an immediate withdrawal of the troops,” Sheehan told The Associated Press in an interview while attending the World Social Forum in Venezuela along with thousands of other anti-war and anti-globalization activists.
“I think our senator needs to be held accountable for her support of George Bush and his war policies,” said Sheehan, whose 24-year-old soldier son Casey was killed in Iraq in 2004.
Feinstein’s campaign manager, Kam Kuwata, said the senator “doesn’t support George Bush and his war policies.”
“She has stated publicly on numerous occasions that she felt she was misled by the administration at the time of the vote,” Kuwata said by phone from California.
But with troops committed, Feinstein believes immediate withdrawal is not a responsible option, Kuwata said.
“Senator Feinstein’s position is, let’s work toward quickly turning over the defense of Iraq to Iraqis so that we can bring the troops home as soon as possible,” he said.
Sheehan accused Feinstein of being out of touch with Californians on the issue.
She said she would decide whether to run after talking with her three other adult children. The Democratic primary will be held in June, and candidates must submit their statements for the voter guide by Feb. 14.
[...]
“If I decided to run, I would have no illusions of winning, but it would bring attention to all the peace candidates in the country,” she said.
LOL. I’m sure it would ![]()
On a related note, Gateway Pundit has posted photos of Ms. Sheehan with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. Yikes!

Sis,
Nothing…..NOTHING…..will be more fun than watching these two try to get to the left of each other.
By the time it’s over, Feinstein may go so far left that she actually comes around to the Right. lol.

Why not Cindy Sheehan challenging HilLiary Klinton for the Democrite candidacy in the 2008 election? She can name Michael Moore as her V.P.! What better way to characterize and spotlight the current state of the Democrite party? Go Cindy, go!!! Bwaaa haa haa haa haa!!!

“If I decided to run, I would have no illusions of winning, but it would bring attention to all the peace candidates in the country,” she said.
- Translation:…”If those ring leaders in the “League of Communist Americans” think they can use me like a home depot door mat and then just dump me, this would show them I AM TOO IMPORTANT!”…
- Actually the quote as written in the San Diego (communist daily) Union was:
“If I decided to run, I would have no illusions of winning, but it would bring attention to the anti-war protest movement across the country,” she said.
- I did notice that Unguided Mother missile resides in Berkeley - Now theres a surprise… Maybe we should just make all those Marxists up there happy and call for a reforendum to make Baghdad-by-the-sea a French territory. Then all the wingnut crazies would move there, and it would be so much easier to keep an eye on them….

Does anyone know where I can get a “RUN CINDY RUN” bumper sticker?
I want one for the FRONT bumper of my truck.

So steve, I presume you voted against every one of them, right? So why are they still in office?
Man, democracy totally sucks, doesn’t it?

Democracy elected Hamas, this is bush’s policy, elect terrorist groups all over the globe? Peace
Comment by steve @ 1/29/2006 - 7:09 pm
Tremendous logic!
/end sarcasm
The Palestinian people elected a terrorist group (unless you are charging that Bush stuffed the ballot box - with a supreme lack of responsibility with your words).
Now, it’d be up to the elected leaders to recognize the right of Israel to exist.
Back to the topic. GO CINDY GO!

I do hope Sheehan runs.
First, it will force Feinstein to deal with her, splitting Democrats between the both of them. In a long shot, if the Republicans can run a strong credible person, they would have a chance to unseat Feinstein, something not previously thought possible in that district.
Second, Sheehan doesn’t havea snowballs chance in heck to win. The usual radicals will support her from the Democrats, splitting off from Feistein’s base support. It also means more public spotlight putting Sheehan and Extreme Democrat ideals in the same picture. Most smart Democrats have pulled away from meeting or even being seen with Sheehan.
The more Sheehan is out in the media, her handlers (Code Pink, MoveOn.org, ect) get to push thier extreme messages through her, and each time the message gets a bit more extreme and rediculous.
To the Radical Left, she is a useful tool.

So which is it, steve? Democracy, or Bush’s doing? Are they both eaqually nefarious?
More to the point, try drinking something other than bong water once in a while. And huffing industrial solvents is not a good idea, either.
Peace, maaaaan.
