I’ve documented several instances of liberal “tolerance” for opposing views in the past, in effect helping expose the lie that far lefties often tell about how they are the “real” defenders of free speech and open debate.
It’s been comical the last couple of months to watch the far left attempt to delegitimize the Tea Party movement by suggesting it was “organized and coordinated” by big name right wingers and right wing groups, an implication that the movement is not “grassroots” and therefore “not real.” Of course, they’re doing so today – perhaps they’re feeling left out? – and in the process trying to paint the movement as a “closet” racist movement because a few kooks in crowds of thousands in certain cities made a$$es out of themselves (in contrast to the regularity in which left wing kooks pretty much control anti-war/military/US protests).
“You can call me now at 1 877 532 5797, (to say) something about the so-called pirates. They call themselves voluntary Coast Guards in Somalia, which may be more apt. Ah, whatever your view.” – Al Sharpton on his syndicated radio show earlier today.
The AP reports on how Somali pirates are vowing to “hunt down and kill” Americans after the rescue of Captain Phillips this past weekend left three of the four pirates holding him hostage dead from sniper shots:
