Blogging has been light lately because I’ve been home not feeling my best. I’m going to try and catch up on some blogging later this evening.
Another staged photo from Lebanon
Ray Robison has the details of yet another staged photo coming out of Lebanon after an Israeli strike. The photojournalist who took the photo (Lefteris Pitarakis) was recently recognized and rewarded by the Associated Press with the “$500 Beat of the Week” award for outstanding photojournalism.

Cuban dictator Fidel Castro’s 80th birthday was August 13th. A certain segment of the population in San Francisco, who probably call themselves “progressives”, celebrated the Communist’s 80th birthday in grand fashion. Here’s the report, with photos, from the San Francisco Sentinel.

In case you haven’t heard, Dell is recalling over 4,000,000 notebook batteries they shipped with laptops between April 1, 2004, and July 18, 2006. Here’s why:
I knew it – Hezbollah “likely” to keep weapons
I expressed concern over the weekend about the UN’s Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire agreement, and one of my concerns was that the agreement didn’t require Hezbollah to disarm, but instead asked for Israel and Lebanon to work out a compromise where Hezbollah would have to disarm. My worry was that this was a recipe for disaster.
