In overnight developments related to the DNC, the Charlotte Observer’s Cleve Wootson reports that Occupy Charlotte – which used to be based on the grounds of Old City Hall until the city beefed up anti-camping ordinances earlier this year, effectively ending the camping – is back in business and has set up camp at Marshall Park uptown:

The Charlotte Observer reports this morning something I have long suspected the influx of demonstrators coming into the city next week for the convention will try and do – occupy Frazier Park in uptown. The article centers around the “housing needs” of professional demonstrators and other various marchers as they prepare to converge in just a few days – with some saying they’re staying with friends, at motels, etc. But some have other plans:
Well, just a short time ago, New Jersey pushed the delegate count to where it needed to be for Mitt Romney to now officially be the Republican nominee for POTUS. Gotta admit, I never in a million years thought we’d be in the position we are today – nominating a guy mistrusted by so many in the base, but he’s “our guy” now, and we’ve got to do what we can to help him and Veep nominee Paul Ryan over the finish line come November.
