The ‘roots are just a little bit upset with the Obama campaign (just as they were upset when Obama surrogate (and VP contender, perhaps?) John Kerry momentarily threw Clark under the bus earlier this month) as word has leaked out via Clark’s Little Rock, Ark. office that the higher ups in Team Obama have basically told him to hit the pavement. The Washington Note’s Steve Clemons writes:
Team Obama has released a 41-page PDF file in an attempt to rebut the claims author Jerome Corsi makes in his book Obama Nation about The Chosen One. While it’s understandable that Barack Obama would want to get out in front on this and try to refute what was written before it becomes email legend, unfortunately for them their factcheck attempt has a few problems of its own, as Jake Tapper writes here. Here’s one counter-point:

A few commenters talked about this issue last night in another thread, and I’ve just gotten done reading the Politico article myself that talks about McCain’s comment that he would not rule out a pro-abortion candidate like former PA Gov. Tom Ridge (R) or Independent Democrat Senator Joe Lieberman  in selecting his VP running mate.
I wrote a few days ago about how McCain’s response to the Georgia/Russia conflict demonstrated his presidential qualities in terms of dealing with a pressing and developing international issue, and noted how Obama’s response – made while he has been vacationing in Hawaii – looks as though he’s reading off of cue cards. The contrasts couldn’t be more stark.  Lots of other people have noticed it, too, including – surprisingly – the NYTimes.Â
Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs fame has done some digging into the FEC donation records of Barack Obama and has found questionable donations that would cause the WaPo to write a two page piece full of errors if it were John McCain. Geller writes:
