Update 3 – 10:04 PM: They’re showing Mc’s video bio now. I’m actually looking fwd to this speech. For all the differences conservatives have had with him, he’s come a long way and he deserves props for that. Long career in the military, 30 years in Congress. And now, presidential nominee. Congrats, Senator.

Memeorandum is bursting at the seams this morning, with many posts there from the left expressing ‘concern’ as to the vetting process behind McCain’s choice of Gov. Sarah Palin for a VP running mate. To make it short, they believe McCain didn’t vet her at all and chose her strictly on the basis that she’s a woman.  As you have probably already surmised by now, this is just one more lame attempt by the left at claiming/implying that Gov. Palin is unqualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.

Seven months ago just a few days before Super Tuesday, I wrote about the State of the Conservative Union. And as we all remember, at that time, it wasn’t good. The main frustration conservatives felt at the time was over the fact that they felt like they didn’t have any good choices in the primary. Not only that, but the writing was on the wall that McCain – a man who conservatives have had their share of issues with - was very likely going to be our nominee, and without much of a fight from his Republican opponents.Â
