Ray Robison has the details of yet another staged photo coming out of Lebanon after an Israeli strike. The photojournalist who took the photo (Lefteris Pitarakis) was recently recognized and rewarded by the Associated Press with the “$500 Beat of the Week” award for outstanding photojournalism.
I expressed concern over the weekend about the UN’s Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire agreement, and one of my concerns was that the agreement didn’t require Hezbollah to disarm, but instead asked for Israel and Lebanon to work out a compromise where Hezbollah would have to disarm. My worry was that this was a recipe for disaster.
Allah is on top of a developing story about a photojournalist who has accused (scroll down on that link) Lebanese wire service photographers of digging up bodies of dead children in Lebanon and staging them for photographs.
Lots of discussion about the UN ceasefire deal (read Kofi Annan’s ‘give peace a chance’ speech here) going on in the blogosphere. Olmert has signaled that he’s ok with it, and the AP is reporting today that Nasrallah has said Hezbollah will as well.
