Saints at the Panthers (UPDATE: PANTHERS WIN 23-10)
The Panthers host the Saints here at home on a very wintry-like day here, at least in terms of the temperatures. It’s 32 degrees currently, but it feels about ten degrees colder.

After last week’s impressive home victory against the Vikings, the Panthers have the potential to play spoiler role again today as they take on the NY Giants on the Giants’ turf in NJ. This could the last Giants’ game that will be played at Giants Stadium unless the Giants win today and thus keep their playoff hopes alive.
With hopes for making the playoffs a distant memory, the 5-8 Panthers’ season is all but over. Tonight, they hope to play the role of spoiler here at home as they take on the 11-2 Vikings, who can clinch the NFC North with a win. Once again, Matt Moore will start as QB for the Cats in place of the ‘injured’ Jake Delhomme. The weather here? Much different than it was on Friday, when we had a wintry mix of slush, sleet, freezing rain, and bitterly cold winds. It’s cold tonight, but there’s not a drop of the frozen stuff in sight.
With last week’s impressive 16-6 win over the Bucs, the 5-7 Panthers hope to score an upset over Tom Brady and the 7-5 Patriots, who almost never lose at home. Matt Moore will once again be the starting QB for the Panthers as Jake Delhomme is still nursing a “broken finger.” I have that in quotes because rumor has it that Delhomme’s finger really isn’t broken, and I’ve heard that at least one local news outlet did an “investigative report” of sorts where they filmed Jake Delhomme throwing the ball and doing various other things with the broken finger hand where it didn’t look like it was broken.
The Panthers will take on the Bucs today here at home in a game that is pretty much meaningless for both teams as they are way out of the playoff picture. Tampa stands at 1-10, and no doubt love to get out of the cellar by beating a division rival whose record is not much better (4-7).
The struggling Panthers will face off against the struggling Jets this afternoon in a game where both teams are playing more for pride than anything else as their respective playoff hopes are all but gone. Both teams are at 4-6 and are coming off losses last week (the Panthers to the Dolphins, and the Jets to the Patriots).
