You know, when he’s not getting his lawyers involved in threatening a major TV network over the airing of a “docudrama” that doesn’t paint him in a positive light, and not angrily blaming tough questions made by Fox News Sunday anchor Chris Wallace on a “conservative conspiracy,” Bill Clinton sometimes gets it right:
Friedman, in his opinion piece in today’s New York Times, writes that 9/11 “made us stupid” and implores “us” to get back into “our old habits and sense of openness”:
Very early this morning, I wrote a post about Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, and his comments on the 6th anniversary of 9-11 in which he essentially stated that all we had to have done prior to 9-11 in order to prevent the attacks was to have shown some “love” and “understanding” to Islamofascists, and remarked on how this morally repugnant attitude was one, unfortunately, shared by so many on his side of the aisle.
As you know, all across America and many countries around the world yesterday, tributes were paid to the victims of 9-11. For those of us whose memories of 9-11 are as fresh in our minds today as if the attacks just happened – and who also understood on that day six years ago that in response to terrorists using our own commercial airliners against us in acts of cruel, vicious savagery against 3,000 innocents done in the name of “Allah,” America was going to have to respond in a way that would make it very clear to Islamofascists around the world that we weren’t going to take it lying down – every day is 9-11 remembrance day, and each day we not only pause to reflect on what happened but also to consider how far we’ve come as well as speculate on how far we have to go.
As part of DC Roe’s Project 2,996 from last year, I wrote this post in honor and tribute to murdered 9-11 victim Peter Edward Mardikian, and wanted to repost it today, the 6 year anniversary of 9-11. The links in the posts were valid, workable links last year, and hopefully they are still good to use this year, too. This post will remain on the top of the page all day, while newer posts will appear below it. Also, please make sure to check out Michelle Malkin’s 9/11: Remembrance and resistance post as well as Don Surber’s link roundup of other 9-11 remembrances being posted today, both in honor of the victims of 9-11 as well as reaffirmations to remain ever vigilant, to stay strong, and to never, ever forget.
