The rule in the US House floor forbidding the wearing of sleeveless attire in any form has become a hot issue over the last few weeks. The Usual Suspectsâ„¢ rushed to the cameras and social media to express their outrage over recent enforcement of said issue. And they wrongly blamed House Speaker Paul Ryan for putting the ban in place even though in reality the rule has been around for decades.
So many developing, hot button stories to talk about from this week. Yet so little time. Here are my quick takes on five of them.
Last week in Charlotte, a disturbing incident which was quickly labeled a ‘hate crime’, took place at an Indian Nepali grocery store on Albemarle Road. Local news station WCNC reported at the time:
The Wall Street Journal published a behind-the-paywall piece recently on the fallout from Target’s decision to go public a year ago with it’s “inclusive” bathroom and fitting room policy in the aftermath of the passage of North Carolina’s HB2. The piece noted that Target’s sales fell substantially in the three quarters after their announcement due to a heavily promoted boycott push by concerned customers. Via Business Insider:
