Paterson’s revenge: Pandering for votes or genuine?
These days, there hasn’t been much love between the race-baiting David Paterson administration in New York and President Obama, so much so, that it sounds like Paterson is getting a bit of revenge against the administration for their lack of support. First it was the criticism from Paterson over Obama admin’s decision to restrict corporate bonus pay (Paterson: “That probably cost New York $1 billion.”) And now, there’s this:
KSM’s NYC show trial and how AQ will be paying close attention
John Yoo, a former Bush admin Justice Department official, writes a powerful piece in today’s Wall Street Journal about how the NYC trial of 9-11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed will provide a wealth of intelligence for our Islamofascist enemies (via Andy McCarthy):
Falcons at the Panthers (UPDATE: PANTHERS WIN 28-19)
It’s a beautiful day for football here in Charlotte – a perfect day, in fact, for a miraculous win by the 3-5 Panthers over the visiting division rivals the 5-3 Falcons. Do they have what it takes to go the distance? The season so far for the Cats has been decidedly mixed on that front. All I can do is hope that they win. I won’t predict that they will – we all know how that usually turns out!
Yes, liberals – it IS wrong for the POTUS to bow at 90 degrees to other heads of state
It never fails that any criticism of President Obama from conservatives is met with the usual “they’re overblowing it/they’re being stupid” cry from some on the left, and this weekend is no different. In response to the legitimate outcry over the President bowing at a clear 90 degree angle to Japanese Emperor Akihito, liberals at blogs like “The Moderate Voice” (does that place even have any moderates posting there anymore?), Alan Colmes’ blog, and others are blasting conservatives for getting upset at our President allegedly “observing a cultural custom.”
Tech notes, Ajax Edit Comments edition
This is your friendly neighborhood tech guy popping in for just a moment. Something changed in the comment loop between WordPress 2.8.5 and WordPress 2.8.6 to cause the “icon” version of Ajax Edit Comments to go outside the comment box. What it is, I don’t know because the HTML source is unchanged, and a similar thing happened on a test blog of mine when I updated to 2.8.6.
