Obama on Afghanistan
The big story of the day is Barack Obama’s renewed call for refocusing on Afghanistan during a speech he made today in Washington, DC. He called for a “surge” of sorts in troops for Afghanistan, while reminding everyone of how he opposed the Iraq war and believes it should end.
Late night white TV talk show hosts finding it difficult to joke about Obama
The NYT published a story today that should be considered a must-read. The focus of it is the fact that white late night TV talk show hosts are finding it difficult to joke about Barack Obama, and even though they won’t admit it outright, reading between the lines you can see that it’s primarily due to the fact that he’s black, and they don’t want to be painted with the “you’re a racist” brush.  The article points out that the audiences that attend the shows tend to be consist primarily of white Barack Obama supporters who the comedians don’t want to offend.
Wassup, Obama?
Just why would you want to erase from your website your original criticisms of the surge, Mr. Democratic party nominee, hmm? 😕
Fisking Barack Obama’s NYT opinion piece on Iraq
First, check out Obama’s opinion piece in today’s NYT in which he wrote about where he supposedly stands on the issue of Iraq.
Morning Obama reading
First, sorry for the light blogging this weekend. I am still not feeling 100%. Long story short, I have had a sharp pain in my left side since Thursday morning. Went to the ER yesterday and they determined it was not a kidney stone but it sure as heck feels like one. I’m on meds right now to keep the pain down, so I’m a bit loopy (more so than normal – LOL). I’m going to make an appt. with my primary care physician at the advice of the ER doc. Hopefully I’ll get to see her sometime early in the week.
