KC Chiefs at the Panthers (UPDATE: PANTHERS WIN 34-0)
The 1-3 Chiefs are visiting the 3-1 Panthers today – the game started at 1pm and is being broadcast on CBS.
Falcons at the Panthers (UPDATE: PANTHERS WIN 24-9)
It’s a gorgeous fall day here in Charlotte, a good day for a home game against the Falcons, our big NFC South rival. The Falcons have the edge in games versus the ‘Cats, with a 16-10 record against them, but the Panthers are hungry for a win after being embarassed by the Vikings last week.
Panthers at the Vikings (UPDATE: PANTHERS LOSE 20-10)
The 2-0 Panthers hope to continue their winning streak today as they visit the 0-2 Minnesota Vikings, who are hungry for a win. WR Steve Smith will be back in action after serving a 2 game suspension for a nasty pre-season altercation with cornerback Ken Lucas in which Smith broke Lucas’ nose. Cutie Vikings QB Gus Frerotte will take over starting duties over Tarvaris Jackson for the rest of the year.
Chicago Bears at the Carolina Panthers (UPDATE: PANTHERS WIN 20-17)
The game’s already in progress on Fox. Hasn’t started off so great for the Cats as the Bears blocked a Panthers punt and run it in for an early TD, making the score at this point 7-0. WR Steve Smith is serving the final game of his two game suspension, so today will be another tough day for the 1-0 Panthers but we can win it if we can avoid making anymore stupid mistakes.
Are you ready for some football? (UPDATE: PANTHERS WIN 26-24)
Yeah, I know the first official game of the 2008 NFL season was played Thursday night – with the Super Bowl champion New York Giants beating the Washington Redskins 16-7, but most of us poljunkies were too keyed up about the RNC to really notice. Like many of ya’ll, this is my favorite time of the year. Fall is in the air, and the pro football season is kicking into high gear with a full round of games for it’s first Sunday of games this season.
