With polls showing the Dems poised to take control of Congress, one magazine – Barron’s – is predicting that the R’s will hold on to their control in Washington. But just barely. DNC Chair Howie Dean refuses to debate RNC Chair Ken Mehlman

It was supposed to be a debate between the two current chairs of the Democrat and Republican parties respectively, but it ended up being a debate between the current chair of the RNC and the former chair of the DNC (Terry McAuliffe). Here’s the video of Today show host Meredith Vieira introducing McAuliffe and Mehlman, and announcing that NBC had invited Dean on and noting he declined to be on at the same time as Mehlman. ROTFL! Loser of the week: Rep. Harold Ford, Jr. crashes Bob Corker’s news conference

In an unbelievable display of chutzpah yesterday, Rep. Harold Ford, Jr. showed up uninvited at a scheduled media event for his opponent Bob Corker and the cameras were rolling. You can see video of the event here and media coverage of it here. Here’s the AP write-up on the showdown in Tennessee. I wonder how much attention the national media will give this?
